Most dive operations begin with a schedule. We begin with the diver.
Your certification matters. Your logged experience matters. What you want to see matters. And so do the conditions on the day.
We don't believe every diver should be taken to the same site simply because that is where the boat is going. Instead, we match the diver to the site.
The result is a more personal experience, smaller groups and diving that is appropriate to the person actually entering the water.

A good dive is more than a location and a depth number. Before a dive is confirmed, we consider your certification, recent diving experience, objectives, equipment configuration and comfort level. Then we consider the site and the conditions.
Sometimes the best decision is to dive the planned site. Sometimes it is to change it. That's part of proper dive planning.

Beyond the Usual Dive Map.
Some of Sri Lanka's most interesting underwater sites sit outside the normal recreational diving circuit.
Through established relationships with Sri Lanka's Navy diving community, we have already been able to conduct dives within Navy-controlled areas that are not normally part of the visiting diver's itinerary.
We are also working towards access to deeper wrecks and maritime sites that have seen very little recreational diving. These opportunities are developed progressively and responsibly, with access dependent on appropriate permissions, diver qualifications, logistics and conditions.

We Follow the Diving. Not the Calendar.
Sri Lanka's diving seasons move with the monsoon. Rather than forcing every diver into the same destination throughout the year, we work across the coastline according to seasonal conditions. As conditions change, the diving shifts from one coast to another.
Colombo and the southern coastline offer a broad range of wreck and reef scuba diving, including deeper offshore wrecks for appropriately qualified divers.
Serious Diving Starts at Every Level.
Our passion for wreck and technical diving does not mean beginners are an afterthought. A first experience underwater deserves the same attention to comfort, planning and safety as a demanding technical dive.
For Discover Scuba and new divers, we can arrange appropriately structured experiences with trusted instructors. For experienced divers, the conversation may lead much deeper. The principle remains the same: match the diver to the experience.
